3D ARTIST | GUITAR STUDIES & GAME OF THRONES WAR TABLE
GUITARS: I have played guitar for over 12 years, it is always been something I find comfort in. While struggling to come up with an idea for my final project I was playing my guitar and realised I should combine these two parts of my life. I aimed to create realistic recreations of guitar models I was particularily fond of or found interesting. Using the book Guitar Family Trees I selected the designs to build, and with each guitar I tried to create and showcase a part that was unique to that model.
Westeros War Table: As a huge fan of fantasy worlds such as Tolkien’s Middle Earth, Bethesda’s Tamriel and Martin’s Westeros, I chose to make a project based on George R.R. Martin’s work which was adapted into Game of Thrones. I enjoy the vastness and endless history of these fantasy universes and a prominent theme in Game of Thrones is strategy which I expanded on by modelling a war table. Made in the style of the Game of Thrones introduction sequence my war table features 6 major keeps from the universe.
NIALL PLATT | YEAR 3 STUDENT
Niall, from Manchester, sees games as an excellent way to escape into another world. He believes games can be a very powerful medium, whether that is through emotional connection, intense thought-provoking puzzles or simply making the player laugh! As a 3D artist Niall finds sending his finished assets to the designers and later seeing them in use within the game incredibly rewarding.
