GAME DESIGN | First Person Action Maze Chase
Hamster: Play as a hamster who must navigate through tubes, avoiding enemies and collecting pellets, bringing them to a central nest.
A One-button game, hover the cursor over the HUD to interact with the controls. My main inspiration was Pac-Man, with the picking up pellets and fleeing from enemies. But I wanted to do a twist on the basic Pac-Man formula. From my research, there were several existing 3D Pac-Man games, but none of them truly attempted to use the 3D space. In my game, the pipes and tubes run parallel to one another as well as running above and below. The next switch-up was to introduce rooms to the maze to help the player get their bearings whilst moving through the labyrinth.
The UI went through several iterations. Starting with labelled buttons and then following numerous playtests progressed to icons which successfully communicate the game mechanics to the player.

I am a Level Designer and love exploring ways to develop my creativity and welcome challenges to think outside the box. I like to think I am an original thinker and am always seeking ways to help improve game-flow within my Levels. I enjoy creating levels, blockouts and blueprints and as you will see from my portfolio.
I am passionate about Lego, The Lord of the Rings, and the Arthurian Legend and find great enjoyment with creating expansions for existing board games, in particular Avalon and GOT.
