ENVIRONMENT ART | CASTAWAY ISLAND

PROP DESIGN

Castaway Island is a stylised environment featuring a makeshift camp made from the wreckage of a ship by two surviving pirates. The island is small and clearly far away from any populated area, with its only other inhabitants being the dodo birds that can be seen walking around. There is a playful and refreshing feel to the scene, but a few details like the population sign, altered from 3 to 2 and a carefully made tomb at the edge of the island, reveal a grimmer underlying narrative.

CHRISTINA VANGOU | FINAL YEAR STUDENT 2019

During her studies on the Games Design course, Christina discovered her affinity for art and 3D and chose to specialise in Prop Modelling and Environment Art.  She enjoys modelling and texturing props for games as well as using them to create environments with gameplay and player interaction in mind.  After graduating Christina hopes to get the opportunity to work as part of a creative team doing exactly that – making games look good.  Check out Christina’s ArtStation portfolio
